Our Club

Since 1927

Built for golf. Woven into Crete.

Lincolnshire has been part of this landscape and community for nearly a century, welcoming generations of golfers, families, celebrations and local traditions.

Our Club

A serious course with a relaxed sense of belonging.

Lincolnshire is a private club serving Chicago?s south suburbs and Northwest Indiana.

Members come for the golf and stay for the access, friendly staff, active calendar, clubhouse hospitality and the feeling of being known. The club also welcomes the public for dining, golf outings, weddings and events.

1925

The vision begins

A Chicago syndicate assembled more than 1,000 acres around Crete for a golf course and residential community known as Lincolnshire Estates.

1927

Lincolnshire opens

The first course opened in August. The surrounding spring fed Deer Lake and wooded landscape helped define the character of the property.

1928

The clubhouse arrives

The first portion of an ambitious clubhouse opened with locker rooms, dining and lounge areas. The completed building became a major gathering place.

1929

Tom Bendelow shapes the course

A third course was designed by Tom Bendelow and built by American Park Builders, whose work also included major courses such as Medinah and Olympia Fields.

Today

The tradition continues

Lincolnshire remains a place for golf, weddings, reunions, outings, community events and everyday connection, surrounded by mature woods, wetlands and wildlife.
